In an interview segment with Canal+, former Nice and Dijon midfielder and current Norwich player Pierre Lees-Melou gave his opinion on his time in the Premier League, having signed with the newly promoted club last summer.
“I’m really starting to get to know this league now,” said the 28-year-old. “When you’re in France, you hear all this good stuff about the Premier League but I think you really have to live it to really witness it.”
On Norwich’s start to the 2021/22 campaign, the Frenchman said, “sure at the beginning it wasn’t easy with a bad start, it has to be said, but the objective is staying up. Even if it might be hard, we believe we can do it. There’s a lot of matches left and we’ve had a good start to 2022 and we’ve taken a decent number of points.”
Having discussed Norwich’s recent 4-0 loss to Manchester City and the champions’ manner of controlling the game, Lees-Melou admitted that, “I think I would rate City and Chelsea slightly above Liverpool, but even then Liverpool still put a lot of pressure on you.” Norwich have lost to all three teams this season: 5-0 and 4-0 to Manchester City; 7-0 to Chelsea; and 3-0 and 3-1 to Liverpool.
