NLD: Tottenham beat ten-man Arsenal to keep top four hopes alive

Tottenham registered a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the north London derby staged at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday.

In the 21st minute, Spurs were awarded what looked like a soft penalty. Kulusevski turned onto his left and pinged a ball to the back post from deep, and with Sessegnon and Son trying to get to it Cedric is somewhat clumsy as he looks to shepherd the latter off the ball. The South Korean went down, and Tierney pointed straight to the spot.

Harry Kane stepped up and made no mistake, sending Aaron Ramsdale to the wrong side and Spurs had the lead.

The Gunners were then reduced to ten men as Holding was sent after receiving the second yellow card for a foul on Son.

It was absolutely mindless from the Arsenal man. His teammates argue his case, as you’d expect, but they can have no complaints.

Kane doubled Spurs’ lead, grabbing his second of the game after heading from a corner.

Further damages were done at the start of the second half with Son adding the third for

Sessegnon played it into the box and Kane does well to hold off Gabriel, who was left on the floor but did enough to get the ball half-clear. It only got so far as Son, and with three Arsenal defenders sucked towards him and Ramsdale in no man’s land from the initial pass, he buried it into the far corner.

Spurs cut the gap to the top four with just a point in it now and a far superior goal difference to Arsenal.
