According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Neymar and Marco Verratti, both missed PSG training on Tuesday as the club continue preparations ahead of the start of the Ligue 1 title defence. The former Barcelona forward’s absence from training is due to an adductor injury, whereas the reason for the Italian’s absence is unknown.
Neymar and Verratti have both been involved in transfer speculation recently. The Brazilian forward has been the target of an offer from Al-Hilal, with the player “not closed off” to the idea of joining the Saudi club. Verratti has also received offers from Saudi Arabia, however, appears to be staying at the Parc des Princes despite the interest in his services. PSG rejected Al Hilal’s latest offer of €45m for the Italian international.
Neymar is reportedly unhappy at the club and has asked the management to let him leave. As well as the offer from Al-Hilal, Chelsea have also reportedly been in contact with the player’s entourage to understand the parameters of a potential move for the Brazilian.
It remains to be seen whether the duo will be available for Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 season opener against Lorient on Saturday.
