Premier League side Manchester United have held initial discussions with representatives of Stuttgart forward Saša Kalajdžić, according to Sky Germany.
Manchester United are very interested in signing the 25-year-old Austria international, who scored six and created two in 15 Bundesliga games last season, as they look to strengthen their attack – apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, only Bruno Fernandes scored double digits last season, whilst Kalajdžić has 22 in 48 Bundesliga games.
So far, VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat is yet to receive any offers for Kalajdžić, who has one-year remaining on his contract. It was suggested that both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing the Austrian, but Bayern Munich don’t deem him a replacement for Robert Lewandowski and BVB signed Sébastien Haller from Ajax.
The Premier League seems a likely option for Kalajdžić with West Ham United, Southampton and Brighton also interested in signing the 200cm striker. If a move doesn’t materialise this summer, then there’s still a possibility that Kalajdžić could sign an extension with Stuttgart beyond 2023.
Manchester United are also interested in signing RB Leipzig’s Brian Brobbey (20).
