Manchester United great Wayne Rooney has questioned why Manchester City’s Premier League title-winning triumph over QPR has never been questioned.
City famously won their first ever Premier League title under the most dramatic of circumstances, with Roberto Mancini’s men scoring twice in stoppage time to record an incredible 3-2 comeback win and pip local rivals Man United to top spot on goal difference.
The game is remembered for Sergio Aguero’s last-gasp winner, with the Argentine smashing the ball past Paddy Kenny in QPR’s net to send the Etihad crowd into raptures.
Rooney questioned the performances of the QPR players in the build up to City’s winner.
“Paddy Kenny should have done better for a couple of the goals,” Derby boss Rooney told The Sun.
“City get the second goal and QPR kick it straight back to them and that’s never been questioned – I find that strange.
“Djibril Cisse celebrating after the game with the City players, but yeah listen it’s a historic moment in the Premier League so I’m sure that – if you are not involved as a Manchester United player, that’s probably one of the greatest moments in the league.”
