Man United should hire this outstanding Premier League manager says Merson

As we all know and expect, Man United will appoint a new manager after the interim boss Ralf Rangnick finishes his short-term contract at the end of the season.

The likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag have been touted to take over, but there are other suggestions as well.

According to the former Arsenal star Paul Merson, Brighton’s manager Graham Potter plays top-quality football. Man United should therefore not sleep on him.

“I am a big fan of his,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“I think he plays brilliant football.

“If I was Manchester United, then I would be watching Potter. The way they play their football. They haven’t got the quality of Man United players. And they play great football.

“If I was Man United. I would be monitoring him. I would think “why not go for him?”.’

Nevertheless, Merson concluded to say the club will not go for Potter.

“They won’t because he’s not a name. It’s as simple as that,” he added.

“Then, the Man United fans will be like “why are we getting somebody from Brighton for?”. And that’s how it works. I think he’s outstanding,” he concluded.

Up next for the Red Devils is the league trip to Brentford on Wednesday night.
