Manchester United were frustrated by West Ham for 92 minutes but ultimately broke through in stoppage time thanks to a close-range Marcus Rashford goal.
United grabbed all three points in the last minute with a goal featuring all three second-half replacements. Anthony Martial sent the ball to Edinson Cavani on the left flank and then squared the ball across the face of the goal for Rashford to tap in and send the crowd into raptures.
A side note is, there was a lot to admire about how Ralf Rangnick limited their opponent to little chances on goal, containing Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen at all times.
However, the encounter demonstrated why the Red Devils are anxious to sign a midfielder this month and upgrade their present alternatives. Both Fred and Scott McTominay have performed admirably under Rangnick, but if the German manager wants for his successor to succeed at Old Trafford, he must improve on the two.
