Man City news: Guardiola gives team update ahead of Tuesday’s FA Cup clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will have a fully-fit squad to pick from when they play Peterborough in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.

The only absentee from the squad is Zack Steffen, who is still sidelined with a shoulder problem.

The American has been out since City’s win against Brentford earlier this month.

“Zack Steffen – Not yet (will he be back). He is still in the gym,” he said during Monday’s pre-match conference.

“(We will) Decide tomorrow with Xabi (goalkeeper coach Mancisidor) (on who will play in goal). Tomorrow we’ll talk about that.”

Guardiola further revealed Aleksandar Zinchenko is in the ‘right frame of mind’ to play despite recent happenings in his home country.

“Yeah, Absolutely (he is fine),” Guardiola added.

“I think it will be good for him and to show that the reason why he is here is because he is a magnificent player.”

Guardiola further added that he was expecting a tough match despite their current travails in the Championship.

“It is one game, it is a final,” Guardiola added.

“Of course, they are not in the best position in the Championship

“We prepare well, we prepare well today and tomorrow to go and try to get through to the quarter-finals.”
