Lucas Hernandez wants to leave Bayern Munich amid PSG interest

Lucas Hernandez has told Bayern Munich that he has an agreement in principle with PSG and that he wants to join the club, according to Kicker.

Just a few weeks ago, there was positive signs that Hernandez would extend his Bayern contract beyond 2024 but with the French champions courting the central-defender, it appears that his wish is to now leave Bayern for PSG.

This comes just days after Benjamin Pavard informed Bayern Munich that he will not be extending his contract beyond 2024, meaning the Rekordmeister will have to sell the Frenchman in the summer, or risk losing on a free the following year.

Regarding Hernandez, it’s unclear as to whether or not Bayern Munich will let him go. Thomas Tuchel is a fan of the World champion and would like him to remain at the club.

But should Hernandez and Pavard depart, Bayern Munich will enter the market for a new top-class central-defender with Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano their remaining options. Youngster Tarek Buchmann is expected to be a part of the first team next season, with a new three-year contract expected for the 18-year-old.

Regarding West Ham’s Declan Rice, the 24-year-old remains Bayern’s preferred candidate for the number six role and per the report, Rice won’t return to Chelsea and while Arsenal are courting the midfielder, they don’t have the appeal of Bayern Munich.
