Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says they’ve received an injury boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Inter Milan.
Klopp is confident of welcoming back Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip for the Champions League clash with Inter Milan – but Roberto Firmino is unlikely to be risked from the start.
Thiago has missed the last three games after injuring his hamstring during the warm-up at the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea last weekend.
Matip was absent from Saturday’s Premier League win over West Ham United through illness, while Firmino has been sidelined since suffering a muscle problem having scored in the 2-0 win at Inter three weeks ago.
“They all trained yesterday – full training,” said the Liverpool boss. “I’m not sure yet what we make of that exactly to be honest as we have to see how they react today.
“Thiago was only a week out, so probably would be fine but I have to wait for it.
“Joel was only three or four days so he is fine, I would say.”
Klopp, though, admits he won’t take any risks over Firmino with the Brazilian having been hampered by a number of muscle problems this season.
“Bobby was longer out, (Sunday) was the first session so we have to see,” said the Reds boss. “It makes probably sense to give him just a few more days with proper training.
“Today we don’t train properly it’s a minus-1 session, it’s tactical stuff, not high intensity and Bobby might need something else. But they are all in training.”
