Leonardo Bonucci set to sign a contract renewal at Juventus

Leonardo Bonucci’s future at Juventus has never been out of the question over the last few months. But according to the latest reports from Italy, the defender would like to continue wearing the black and white jersey for a few more years.

The report from Goal Italia‘s Romeo Agresti claims that Bonucci has agreed to sign a new extension at Juve that will keep him at the Italian club beyond 2024. The Italian defender signed his last extension with the Old Lady in November 2019.

In recent times, the criticism of the 35-year-old has seen a steady rise, with various voices asking the club to sanction his sale in the last summer transfer window. But having allowed Giorgio Chiellini to leave just before the start of the new campaign, Juve were determined to hold onto the services of an experienced campaigner.

Bonucci is now willing to continue his adventure in Turin. And although the player is now ready to put pen to a new contract with Bianconeri, the actual completion of the renewal procedures will take time. The 35-year-old veteran has played six matches in Serie A this season and formed a formidable partnership with summer recruit Gleison Bremer at the centre of the defence.
