The La Liga teams already know two of their possible Champions League quarter-final opponents.
La Liga still has three teams remaining in the Champions League amid the ongoing Round of 16.
Real Madrid have a one-goal deficit to turn around against PSG this week, while Atletico Madrid take a draw to Old Trafford against Manchester United and Villarreal are also level, heading to Turin to face Juventus in their second leg.
All three teams will be desperate to reach the last eight, and the draw for that competition will be completely unseeded.
That means it’s a free-for-all, with none of the bigger teams kept apart from the next round onwards.
And we already know two of the opponents Atleti, Real Madrid and Villarreal could face if they go through.
On Tuesday night, Liverpool lost their second leg to 10-man Inter Milan but still scraped through with a 2-1 aggregate win.
Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski scored just the three goals to defeat RB Salzburg 7-1 on the night, Bayern winning 8-2 on aggregate.
That’s two real heavy hitters already waiting for any Spanish club – if any – that manages to progress.
Though, given the unseeded nature of the quarter-finals draw, Bayern and Liverpool could also face each other.
The rest of the Round of 16 clashes will be played across this week and next, with Real Madrid facing PSG this Wednesday night.
