Kylian Mbappe has reached his second World Cup final at the age of just 23.
Having become the first male teenager to score in the blue riband fixture since Pele four years ago, the Paris Saint-Germain star now has a glorious opportunity to cement his place in the history books on Sunday night.
And the scary thing is that Mbappe has been playing even better than he did in Russia, maturing into an even more rounded forward capable of changing games in the blink of an eye.
How is Mbappe playing at the World Cup?
The former AS Monaco starlet crowned off a 4-1 win over Australia, before smashing a match-winning brace past Denmark and doubling up against Poland in the round of 16.
He might not have scored against England or Morocco in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively, but he still looked like a live-wire throughout, always leaving goalkeepers nervously twitching between the sticks.
Going into Sunday’s final with Argentina, Mbappe is one of the favourites to win the Golden Ball as well as being level with Lionel Messi on five strikes in the hunt for the Golden Boot.
Sadly, though, one fan knows better than anybody just how lethal Mbappe’s striking ability truly is, ending up on the receiving end of one of his ferocious strikes on Wednesday evening.

What did Mbappe do to a fan vs Morocco?
According to the Daily Mail, a France supporter in attendance at the Al Bayt Stadium appeared to have been hit by a misdirected shot from Mbappe during the warm-up for the Morocco clash.
What happened next has since gone viral on social media with Mbappe showing his class by running over to the stands to apologise to the unlucky fan and check that they were ok.
With the French-kit-clad individual looking visibly dazed by the accident, Mbappe made a special effort to hurdle the advertising hoardings and comfort the fan as he was cradled by his friends.
Just one look at the disoriented person and you appreciate how much it must have hurt, so it really was classy for Mbappe to check that he was as sound as anybody who’d just been walloped with a football could possibly be.

We hope that the France fan in question felt a little bit better courtesy of Mbappe’s lovely gesture and that he was able to enjoy Les Bleus’ subsequent 2-0 win featuring goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani.

How many World Cup goals does Mbappe have?
Remarkably, despite only being 23 years old, Mbappe already has nine World Cup goals to his name having notched four strikes in Russia and amassed a further five finishes in Qatar.
Mbappe broke his duck with a winning goal against Peru in the group stages four years ago, before smashing a brace past 2022 finalists Argentina and scoring against Croatia in the final.
Throw in his efforts this winter and there’s perhaps reason to believe that Mbappe might overhaul the World Cup‘s all-time record goalscorer, Miroslav Klose (16), at some point in his career.
