According to Florian Plettenberg, Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer (25) and Stade Rennes’ Mathys Tel (17) are Bayern Munich’s next targets after securing the signing of Matthijs De Ligt from Juventus.
It’s reported that both players have a verbal agreement to join Bayern having been convinced by head coach Julien Nagelsmann and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić.
Further rounds of negotiations are now being planned to try and get both deals over the line.
Nagelsmann has been trying to get Laimer for a long time.
One of his former players at Leipzig, Nagelsmann sees the Austrian international as a key part of his plans should he join Bayern.
Bayern had originally submitted an opening offer of €20m for Laimer which was rebuffed by Leipzig.
The attacking midfielder has already turned down a contract extension offer from Leipzig and has made it clear that he wishes to join Bayern by next summer at the latest.
It’s a similar case when it comes to Mathys Tel who has already informed Rennes obsesses and manager Bruno Génésio that he wants to join Bayern Munich.
Rennes would hope to get around a fee of around €20m for the French youth international.
With both players wanting to join Bayern it’s highly possible that both transfers could be completed as long as Leipzig and Rennes feel an appropriote fee has been reached.
