Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given an update on the fitness situation of star man Mohamed Salah ahead of their midweek clash against Arsenal.
Salah was withdrawn just minutes after he had doubled the Reds lead in their weekend win over Brighton and Hove Albion in what had their fans worried.
In his Tuesday press conference, Klopp appears to have suggested Salah could be available for selection at the Emirates after the injury scare against Brighton.
“Mo is a tough cookie. We were quite happy and lucky. Swollen, painful, today less so. Got a message before the presser he’s ready to train. We’ll see how that looks,” Klopp said.
The player’s future has been a subject of speculation on Twitter and the topic arose again on Tuesday with the German saying: “I’m not on Twitter – another good reason for that. I spoke about that, but actually, I shouldn’t have. I don’t think I said anything [controversial], it was like it is, but you got me in the trap or whatever.”
Liverpool will be up against an in-form Arsenal who wants a return to Champions League football. But with Man City dropping points on Monday night, the Reds have a chance to close the gap between them and the leaders to one point with a win at the Emirates.
