Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given an injury update on the duo of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.
While Jota picked an injury during the first half of Wednesday’s Champions League tie with Inter Milan, Firmino was absent from the squad that beat Norwich City 3-1 on Saturday, and Klopp revealed that he was being assessed by the club’s medical staff.
“We made a lot of changes – two we had to make, Diogo and Bobby both were not available today. We really don’t know 100 percent.
“With Diogo, it looks a little bit better than we first thought. With Bobby, we didn’t even know that he had something until he felt it only after the game (in midweek). We all thought it is a little thing, but it’s a muscle injury and we have to see how long it will take,” Klopp said after the game.
Klopp stated that he didn’t know how long the duo would be out but explained why he rested defender Trent Alexander Arnold in the game.
“I don’t know (when the duo would be back) at the moment, but for sure not for the next game, so we have to see. We rested Trent today and the rest pretty much were in the squad or played,” Klopp added.
Attention for Liverpool, who are now six points below Man City in the league with a game in hand, turns to Leeds United whom they face on Wednesday.
