Roma boss Jose Mourinho has reiterated the fact that Tottenham didn’t give him the chance to manage in a final, whereas the Giallorossi have allowed him to do just that.

Roma take on Sevilla in the Europa League final tomorrow and it is their second consecutive European final under Mourinho, who helped them win the Conference League last season by beating Feyenoord in the final. Tottenham meanwhile, had sacked Mourinho days before the League Cup final against Manchester City two seasons ago.

Mourinho was asked about managing big finals in the pre-game press conference and he stated: “Roma gave me the chance to play them, Tottenham didn’t.”

Mourinho was also asked about Paulo Dybala’s fitness and whether he could be available or not. There were initial doubts about the Argentine’s fitness but he did feature in training yesterday. Mourinho stated: “Tomorrow, he could do it for 20 to 30 minutes.”

The Roma boss was also asked about Real Madrid’s love for him and he stated: “I love Real Madrid very much, I love the president and the coach very much. But the coach doesn’t play, the coach works a lot before the match, not much during the match. I told my staff: today our job is finished. Now the boys are making the story. The Madrid colleagues say very well that Sevilla have a great team, two great teams because they have 25 top-level players. They are all high-level professionals, they have many options. But they don’t know my boys and they don’t know my team as a team and we’ll be there tomorrow.”

Sevilla have never lost a Europa League final in their history but Jose Mourinho has also never lost a European final in his career, which makes the game quite an enticing tie.
