Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi was pleased with their 2-1 defeat of Udinese on Sunday.
The result keeps Inter within two points of leaders AC Milan as Ivan Perisic and Lautaro Martinez struck on the day.
Inzaghi said, “It was a great show of character against an Udinese team that in April was the best performing side after us.
“Inter wanted to win, deserved the victory in a very difficult situation. I want to thank the fans again as they made us feel as if we were almost at San Siro.
“After Pussetto’s goal, we did go a bit too deep, but we still didn’t run any real risks. It is May 1, we’ve played 50 competitive matches this season, including seven in 22 days, but we are in good shape and want to keep believing until the end.”
He added: “I don’t think it makes much difference who plays first, as we are accustomed to it. We know since the television rights took charge of the fixture lists that these things happen, it’s not unusual now. I was concentrated on Udinese and not what Milan did.
“There are nine points still up for grabs and anything is possible.”
