Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Italiano comments on future after West Ham loss: “We’ll see”

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano has opened up about his future at the club after the club’s 2-1 loss to West Ham in the Conference League final.

Italiano’s side put on a good performance but they conceded a heartbreaking 90th minute winner through Jarrod Bowen to lose the game. Said Benrahma had scored a penalty earlier in the first half to hand West Ham the lead but Giacomo Bonaventura’s goal had brought La Viola level.

In recent weeks, Italiano has been linked with a move to Napoli, who have lost Luciano Spalletti already. Italiano was asked about his future in a chat with Sky Italia (via TMW) after the game and he stated that he will soon hold talks with Rocco Commisso to understand what the future holds for him.

“The president was clear. As happened last year and it happens to many others, we’ll see and talk about the future. There’s nothing else to add. At the end of the season you sit down and talk serenely about everything.”

It has been reported that Italiano is in pole position to replace Spalletti, with Napoli having been pegged back in approaches for other managers and Napoli were only going to speak to Fiorentina after the Conference League final. This is a saga which can gather steam soon.
