Argentina winger Angel di Maria has hinted at hanging his international boots after the World Cup.
The PSG star scored in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Venezuela on Saturday but said afterward that the game may be his last in the national shirt in Argentina.
“I’m just going to say thank you for the enormous love received,” he wrote. “I always dreamed of everything I experienced on this beautiful night.
“It was probably my last match with this shirt in Argentina. And to be able to say that it was a wonderful night is an understatement.
“Thank you, thank you and a thousand times thank you. Now to congratulate the whole team for the incredible match that was played. A perfect match from all. We continue growing and dreaming together. Let’s go Argentina!”

With Argentina already through to the World Cup in Qatar later this year, the winger may not get a chance to feature before a home crowd.
He will however have the chance to wear the famous kit twice before the big kickoff in Qatar, as they play Brazil and Ecuador in the remaining two World Cup qualifier matches.
Argentina will also face Italy in the special match between Euro and Copa America winners at Wembley in June.
Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, and Uruguay have all booked their place in the showpiece in Qatar later in the year.
