Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi wants Premier League stay

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto de Zerbi wants to stay in the Premier League, despite interest from a host of other clubs.

De Zerbi could yet take the Seagulls to European or even Champions League football, but his future seems to be in doubt. Apart from having a release clause in his deal, the Italian has been linked with the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool, with Inter also said to be interested in him.

But with Brighton flying and Premier League interest in him at a premium, Gianluca di Marzio has revealed that De Zerbi wants to stay in England for the time being. Di Marzio spoke to Sky Italia (via TMW) about his situation, especially amongst links with Inter.

“One name that came out [to replace Simone Inzaghi] was that of Roberto De Zerbi who, however, wants to stay in the Premier League. So in any case it would not be easy to find the right coach for this project either.”

Di Marzio also revealed some details about Simone Inzaghi’s future at Inter, stating once again that the Italian’s job is at risk and the ex-Lazio boss is well aware of that.

“Simone Inzaghi this season has been unable to have the whole squad available. And in this, he is very unfortunate because when he starts to have choices available, someone gets hurt again. The club is reflecting on him and he knows it.”

Inter are currently third in the Serie A table and their recent loss to Juventus meant that they fell behind Lazio, who climbed up to second in the table.
