Barcelona man on Juventus: “There were two contacts, then we didn’t define anything.”

Barcelona and Besiktas midfielder Miralem Pjanic has revealed that contacts were made by parties for a move back to Juventus last summer but nothing materialised.

Pjanic was heavily linked with a return to the Bianconeri in the summer but the Old Lady signed Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo and the Bosnian’s return to Juve didn’t go through.

Pjanic spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport in a recent interview and he stated: “There were two contacts, then we didn’t define anything and it was not because of an economic question. For me, it was not a question of money, even now I would like to be important in a project and win the Scudetto. I’m hungry, experienced, almost 700 games: I think I can aspire to have high goals, right?”

The midfielder also spoke of the desire to play in Italy once again and he stated: “I miss it, honestly. I would definitely go back. To make you understand, the elimination of Italy from the World Cup struck me, as if I were Italian too.”

Pjanic had joined Barcelona in a much-controversial swap deal involving himself and Arthur and he was loaned out to Turkey last summer.
