Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone says they’re not setting any targets in this season’s Champions League.
Los Rojiblancos are set to face Manchester United in the first leg of their round of 16 tie on Wednesday, and Simeone is only focusing on that clash.
“I live from day to day, you [journalists] are the ones who assess our work,” he said at his press conference.
“We must work hard, we cannot stop to think about what we are doing because what happened yesterday is worthless. Only game by game counts.
“In any company it is important to work together, the day to day is key. We are lucky to be at a time when we are all on the same page.”
Simeone feels that United have improved of late.
“I see them stronger, more compact,” he said.
“They are a top opponent with defensive strength in the air.
“It’s hard to find places where they make mistakes. I always prepare the matches with the best qualities of the opponent [in mind] and looking for the way to hurt them.”
