Aston Villa are still hoping to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma despite having nabbed Boubacar Kamara this week.
Villa confirmed that they had acquired the services of Kamara from Marseille on Monday and despite having the likes of Douglas Luiz and John McGinn already in the team, 90mins reports that manager Steven Gerrard is still hopeful of strengthening the position further.
Villa was linked with Bissouma in January but a deal didn’t materialize and it seems that they haven’t given up on the Mali international who has been a cog in Brighton’s midfield and has been linked with a series of clubs in recent months.

The reports claim that talks are already ongoing over a deal for Bissouma, who told Brighton earlier this year that he was ready to move on from the club in the summer window and a deal worth in the region of £30m could be enough to land the player.
Apart from Villa, North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are said to be monitoring the player and have maintained contact with the player’s camp since the turn of the year.
