Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn says they gave Arsenal too much respect yesterday.
Villa lost 1-0 at home on Saturday.
McGinn said, “It’s disappointing. The first half was frustrating. Arsenal were comfortable on the ball and it took us way too long to get involved in the match. The second half was much better, but when you give the teams a head start in this league, it’s hard to come back.
“We were not good enough on or without the ball and we had too much respect for Arsenal.
“During the break, we talked about being more aggressive and more after them. We had chances, but we were not meant to score.”
