Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause is convinced they can upset Manchester United again in tonight’s FA Cup clash.
The defender scored a late header to win a dramatic Premier League game there back in September, securing Villa’s first triumph at United since 2009.
And now Hause is targeting another away day win as Villa look to progress in the FA Cup.
He said: “Earlier on in the season we went there, got a good result and the team played very well.
“They’re going to have it in the back of their minds that we’ve gone there and turned them over, so they’re going to be up for it.
“We need to go there with a game plan – I’m sure the manager will have a good game plan for us – we need to execute it and try and get the win there again.”
Much has changed since Villa’s 1-0 success earlier in the season, with both clubs having hired new managers.
On manager Steven Gerrard, Hause continued: “He coaches and manages the same way he played – he’s very passionate and demanding of himself and the players, which is great.
“It’s what we need as players, trying to improve and better ourselves every day. He’s also a really good guy to speak to, so I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about the gaffer.”
Hause added: “We’ve got a lot of good results since the gaffer came in, but he’s got that mindset of never being satisfied.
“We have to work day-in and day-out, take it one game at a time and keep working hard. Everyone is fully on board with him and his coaching staff. We’re looking forward to what 2022 brings.”
