Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić has numerous admirers in the summer transfer market. But the Italian club’s asking price is considered extensively high.
While giving an interview to Wettfreunde, Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio declared that Lazio would sell Sergej Milinković-Savić only if they were to receive £75 million in exchange for the Serb’s high-quality services.
Arsenal, Manchester United, and even Chelsea have been linked with a move for Milinković-Savić this summer. But, according to Di Marzio, none of them is willing to match the demands of Claudio Lotito, the president of Lazio.
When asked about whether there is an agreement between Lazio and Arsenal over the transfer of the 27-year-old midfielder, Di Marzio opined,
“I don’t think they will come to an agreement. [Claudio] Lotio wants a lot of money for his players. I don’t think any club will pay the price they ask.
“Even with Arsenal’s style of play, I don’t think he’s the right player for them. He’s a very good player, even off the ball. I think he could be a better fit for Manchester United or Chelsea.
“At the moment, there is no club willing to invest the £75m Lazio are asking for Milinkovic-Savic. So I think it’s very difficult for him to leave Lazio at the moment.”
Milinković-Savić had a great 2021/22 season, where he ended up garnering 11 goals and 11 assists from 37 appearances in Serie A. The Serbia international is currently bound to Lazio’s terms until June 2024.
