Manchester United left-back Alex Telles has been nominated for the 2021/22 Champions League Goal of the Tournament award.
Although it was a disappointing season for United, not just in Europe as he failed to reach the Champions League quarter-finals but Telles has been named on a 10-man shortlist for the best goal in this year’s competition for his volley against Villarreal.
United came from behind to take all three points in the game that was in the group stages. In the goal, Bruno Fernandes sent a free-kick towards the edge of the box, only for the Brazil international to hit it first time into the back of the net.
