AC Milan defender Tomori on title glory: So many emotions right now

AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is still coming to terms to being a Serie A title winner.

A January 2021 signing from Chelsea, Tomori was a key influence on Milan’s Scudetto triumph this season.

“It’s hard to explain what I feel right now. I feel many emotions inside. We’ve worked hard to win the title and we made it. It’s my first title with Milan and I hope it’s only the beginning,” the England international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We knew we were a strong team and that we could win. When I arrived a year and a half ago, we were table leaders and our target was to qualify for the Champions League. It was natural to aim for a trophy this season. It’s such a great feeling and it’s even better because I feel so well here. I refer to the club, the city and my teammates.

“I’ve never felt anything similar. I realized what we had just done. I felt the magic. I think we deserved it so much.”

Tomori also said: “First of all, I want to say that I give my best every time I play, but all defenders are different. Kalulu is very young, so I have to talk a little more because he needs to be guided. With Kjaer, it’s the opposite. He is a natural leader, so he is the one giving guidance.

“The same goes for Romagnoli, who is our captain and has been in the team for many years.”
