A renewal at Juventus seems difficult for Federico Bernardeschi amidst Premier League interest

A renewal seems distant for Federico Bernardeschi at Juventus, with a report hinting at the player’s unwillingness to lower his demands.

In his today’s column in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giovanni Albanese discusses Bernardeschi’s contract situation at Juventus. According to the reputed Italian journalist, it has become difficult for the Italian international to get a contract renewal at Juventus unless he lowers his demands.

Bernardeschi, 28, currently earns around €4million net per season. The report understands that he is looking for a sum close to those current figures in his new contract at Juventus. But Bianconeri’s current offer is not close to that, with Albanese claiming that the club could stretch the numbers to €2.5million-per-season at the very best.

Furthermore, Bernardeschi demands a five-year contract from Juve, while the club is looking to offer him a three-year extension. In all, there remains a huge gap between the demands of the player and what Juventus have prepared for him.

Bernardeschi parted ways with Mino Raiola in Novemener 2021 and hired Federico Pastorello as his agent. But such change has not helped him pen a contract extension with the 36-time Italian champions.

If the former Fiorentina star fails to attain a renewal in Turin, he will leave the club as a free agent in the upcoming summer, with his current contract at Juventus coming to an end in June 2022. Several clubs from England, Spain, and France are understood to be interested in securing Bernardeschi’s services.
