đź‘€ A look at Pep Guardiola’s record vs Man United

It’s derby day in Manchester, and it’s red versus blue!

Manchester United and Manchester City have had one of the longest rivals in the history of English football, and even though it might not be as fierce as the Red Devils tussle with Liverpool, it still means a lot when it comes to bragging rights.

Former Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson referred to the city rivals as the ‘noisy neighbors’, something that has stuck with many to this day, and some of his predecessors managed to do just that.

But, let’s shift our focus to the blue side, and to one other great manager, Pep Guardiola.

For a manager as wonderful as the Spaniard and a team as metronomic as Manchester City, their recent record against bitter rivals Manchester United is somewhat disappointing.

Guardiola has met the Red Devils 15 times with his Cityzens since arriving in England in 2016. While they have claimed a few sweeping triumphs, they have also been defeated six times by a mediocre Manchester United team that hasn’t been near to City’s quality in years.

Here’s a look at his full record versus Man United, with his wins indicated in bold:

  • May 27, 2009 – UEFA Champions League – Barcelona 2-0 Manchester United
