❌ Everton’s Allan red card appeal rejected

Everton’s appeal against Allan’s red card issued on Thursday’s 1-0 win over Newcastle United has been rejected.

Allan was sent off following a challenge on Allan Saint-Maximin during Everton’s dramatic win over Newcastle United. Initially, the Brazilian was shown a yellow card by the centre referee Craig Pawson but after the VAR check, it was upgraded to red.

The Toffees have seen two appeals rejected and Allan will serve his three-game suspension.

Frank Lampard’s reaction

“It’s not a red card. Alan Shearer, Mr Newcastle, just said it. The frustrating thing for us we had, in my opinion, the most blatant one against Man City — the referee didn’t see it, VAR got it wrong and we get an apology,” he said after the match.

“This one the referee sees it, he delivers the correct verdict of a yellow card and VAR somehow changes it.”

“Did you seriously endanger a player for kicking him on the foot? That’s football. It’s yellow, yes. It’s a strong yellow, yes. Did it warrant an overturn? No.”

The 31-year-old will miss Everton’s FA Cup clash against Crystal Palace as well as Premier League games against West Ham and Burnley.
