Newcastle United have been granted planning permission to improve their training ground, according to The Athletic.
The Magpies are set to build a new training facility in the long-term, but also want to upgrade their current setup.
The club believe they have to make immediate changes, as the status of their current facility is below most Premier League and even Championship clubs.
As Newcastle invest in the first team after the takeover by a Saudi Arabian-led consortium, they are also making improvements behind the scenes.
The club submitted their plans to North Tyneside council regarding the training ground updates, with work underway.
